What is CT Stream?

CT Stream is a Changing Tides sponsored stipend program intended for AAPI youth and young adults (ages 16 – 35) who are first-time non-acute therapy seekers or currently unable to afford the costs of therapy. The goal of this program is to provide an accessible, transparent, and inclusive opportunity to obtain mental health services. CT STREAM FAQs

Can I get a stipend to pay for a therapist I already have?

1

The CT Stream stipend is specifically for sessions with therapists in our directory.

What if the therapist I choose is not a good fit?

2

Our intake coordinator will provide you with 2-3 therapists that she believes will be a good fit for you. If the therapist you pick from the 3 is not a good fit for you, then you can discuss switching to one of the other therapists that the intake coordinator recommends.

I missed out on this round of requests, will there be another round of stipends?

3

The goal is to make the CT Stream a recurring program, but this iteration of the CT Stream is a pilot program. Continuation of CT Stream stipends is contingent on funding. With that said, we are unsure when we will do another round of stipends, but when we do it will be announced on all of our platforms!

Does my location impact my ability to receive a CT Stream stipend?

4

At the moment, CT Stream stipends are only available for California residents. All of our therapists in the CT Stream directory are only licensed to practice in California. If our availability broadens beyond California, we will make sure to update our site.
